Electric vehicles are going to be released in America by different manufacturers in the end of this year. The Chinese consumers will get subsidy when they purchase this kind of car. The problem that people concern most is not the environmental protection but the charging time of battery. The traditional automotive can run hundreds of kilometers with a few minutes of refueling, while the charging time should be calculated in hours.
The great weight of the automotive battery makes it impossible to alter, so the hope for quick charging can be complemented only after the establishment of intelligent electric grid. The battery can be charged for hours when the electricity price is low at night. But, this is not the only solution. The problem that whether the electric vehicle can be charged quickly or not has already become the question that influences the fate of the device. Why not to charge the electric vehicles by the wayside as well as the ordinary car.
People already have some plans to achieve the quick charging. An experimental fast charging station has been established in Dutch, which is able to provide the electricity for fifty kilometers within thirty minutes. The Japanese companies are trying to develop the more advanced new technology which can charge fifty percent of electricity in only three minutes. If the time is extended to five minutes, eighty percent of the electricity will be reached. The distance between electric vehicle and traditional car will get closer by the similar charging time. The technology is the breakthrough of this field, which is very realistic.
The lithium battery is used most nowadays. The compound and carbon are two sides of the battery, and numbers of electrolytes are between the two sides. The lithium is running from positive electrode plate to negative electrode plate when charging, from negative electrode plate to positive electrode plate when discharging. The speed and amount of the lithium always determine both the charging and discharging time. The new charging system of Japanese company applies the accumulator as the medium, using the ultra high voltage directly to charge.
