Eat Your Favorite Foods and Lose Weight! Weighing in on the Every Other Day Diet

The Every Other Day Diet was developed by fitness expert Jon Benson. He was a self proclaimed "former fatty" that is now a lean mean machine.

This diet is based on science and does not involve supplements or fad diets. It's a way of training your body to burn fat effectively, while still enjoying life (and enjoying food).

Jon states that there are three criteria to consider when implementing any weight loss program. One, make sure the program is scientifically sound. Two, that it offers all the support you need to stay with the program and three, that it is easy to follow.

Jon backs up the exercise program and "nutrition program" with solid scientific evidence. He also reveals why deprivation doesn't work and how we end up eating more when we deprive ourselves of what we really want. He also debunks exercise myths and shows us how to work out in as little as 16 minutes a day in order to melt away fat! And he definitely makes it simple with his 9-2-5 formula that makes exercise easy for busy people.

The principles are designed to work with your biochemistry and genetic tendencies instead of working against them.

Again, the program is easy to follow and does not involve calorie counting whatsoever. The plan introduces a concept of "interval eating" by dividing the days into "burn days" and "feed days." You'll be eating less calories on your burn days and more on your feed days, but the overall daily caloric intake averages out. Your low calorie burn days set your body up for handling all the carbohydrates and calories that will be coming on the following feed day.

I have personally purchased this program and love how he shows us a simple acronym that makes eating a SNAPP! You literally don't have to give much thought into what you eat every day if you can remember this one simple acronym. He also gives a simple formula for making sure you are eating the proper amount of protein that is optimal for fat burning. And he offers simple ways to think about portions.

And there are 5 detailed plans to choose from: The Primer Plan (for beginners and people with blood sugar issues), The Lifestyle Phase 1 Plan (for beginners), the Lifestyle Phase 2 plan (healthiest meal plan), the Extreme Plan (for athletes and body builders) and the Ultimate Plan (for everyone). And the program comes with fabulous, healthy recipes for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

You also get a lot of bonus items with the program. There is a "Radical Weight Loss Blueprint" that includes a 21 day program to help you lose 21 pounds. This is for the extremely dedicated people that want to lose weight and see results to jump start their weight loss. There are also exercise tips along with exercise videos. There are only a handful of exercises that you need to do to burn fat, with an emphasis on resistance and weight training. But again, it's a short, easy to follow work out. I'm getting ready to do my resistance training in front of the television tonight!
