Buying small appliances can be quite expensive, especially if you are after products that are high quality. A regular mixer costs about 180 dollars, while a food processor will cost close to 200 dollars. So just imagine how much a refrigerator or a washer and dryer would cost! If you add up every little piece that you need to fashion up your kitchen, you will need a large amount of cash to do so.

First, wait for the holiday season. Whether it is Thanksgiving or Memorial Day, great deals are a sure find in every store. Most stores mark their small appliances down by at least 25% from its original price during holidays.
You can also save money when you buy items over the internet. Online shopping is better since you will have the opportunity to look at more shops, even those that are far from where you are at. You will also be able to save on gas since no driving is involved and you will have more options and choices because you can easily check one shop after another with just a few clicks of the mouse.
Another option that you can try is to buy reconditioned appliances. Reconditioned items, contrary to public perception, make a very good deal because they work and function as well as brand new items but are sold for half its original price. Although they have had problems, reconditioned items have already been fixed by the manufacturers so there is no need to be apprehensive.
The next time you shop, try checking the clearance section. Every time a company decides to upgrade on an item, they will sell the current model at a very low price. These discontinued items will give you a lot of savings since companies are so eager to make room for their new models.
Another good option is shopping in thrift stores. Items found on thrift stores are given away by their previous owners because they are either in need of extra space or in need of extra cash. Either way is good for you because some people sell items that are still inside their boxes. And, most appliances in thrift stores are sold at amazing prices.
However, when all these tips are unsuccessful, you can always try buying items from your friends or other relatives. Most of the time, the people that you know have something at home that they will be willing to sell. Since you know them personally, you can get items at a friendly price.
