Widescreen Plasma TV - Some Features
By Derric Goodwin

Plasma television has been modified in several ways to impart additional features in it. Widescreen is a new addition in its types. It is a television having a widescreen of format 16:9. Movies can be displayed well on it because most of them have the same format. This is the reason for which cinema screens are also of this type. It is also known as HDTV. Television broadcasts are not mainly in this format and are displayed as distorted visual display on the screen of this product.

The new games released in the market are also in widescreen format and hence this product is best for playing them. Moreover with split screen technology, more than one game can be viewed on the screen in small windows at a time and can be played according to player's choice at any time. This makes it suitable for passionate gamers.

It can also be used for the purpose of work. Most of its models are capable of having computer input and 2, 3 files can be viewed at a time on the screen with ease. This saves a lot of time and provides convenience to the workman. So, it can be used as a television at one time and in time of need, can be connected to a computer to function as a monitor.

When used as a television, most of the models in the market have split screen technology which helps the customer to watch two or more channels on the screen at a time. All the channels being viewed on the screen open in small windows.

It is mostly available in market with flat panel design but some of its models are also available in rare projection type. The former one is mostly bought by the people but due to widescreen it is not easy to move it from one room to another in a home as is true for a traditional television. So, to keep it, it is necessary to have a place reserved for it which would be used as a home theatre.

This product has very little drawbacks and is very widely used by people to set up a home theatre. The only main drawback it has, like all other plasma television models, is the burn-in effect. In this case, an image stays on the screen for a longer period of time. This effect may be for a short period but may be of permanent nature.
